MIS Intern
|

ProfSoft is currently looking for an intern to work two or three days a week for about six months on this project. This is a great opportunity for a self-driven student to plan, administer and review the acquisition, development, maintenance and use of all network and phone infrastructure and systems within the organization.
Responsibilities Include:
- Systems Setup – This includes designing and setting a company wide file server, printers, creating images for building laptops, desktops and virtual machines, and setting up software systems such as Bugzilla, WIKI, CVS and Others.
- Network and Security setup – Design and setup a windows network with networking technologies e.g. LDAP. Also Setup interoffice VPN.
- Setup Server and Work Station Backups including researching, designing and implementation of backup strategy.
- Evaluate and Support new and existing server applications such as CRM, Time Tracking, Documentation.
- Setup and Maintain ASTERISK/VOIP Phone system.
- Provide end-user support troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues.
- Train new staff on using company’s systems (e-mail, file storage, database, etc.)
- Document all internal systems – both setup and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain a database of Software Packages and licenses.
Requirements & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware.
- Motivated, highly organized, committed to continuous improvement and learning.
- Readiness to work in a complex, dynamic, fast-paced environment and to handle stress with calm and balance.
- Ability to multi-task and switch easily between tasks and multiple projects.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problems solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, and firewalls Windows Active Directory (or similar system).
- PC support skills and experience.
- Good communications skills.
- Have or earning a BA/BS MIS or CIS (or related technical discipline).
- PC networking experience.
Compensation:
Starting rate based on experience and qualifications. We've given increases to interns who have exceeded our high expectations on performance of assigned tasks.
