The Manager will oversee software development for company’s analytical software applications. As well as  all software programmers in the development group and outsourced development groups to ensure high productivity and product quality.

• Establish and drive project timelines and deliverables schedule for both internal and outsourced projects.
• Create and manage project plans for new software products, enhancement features and customized reports.
• Determine resource roles need, prioritize requirements, define scope and identify phases, dependencies and milestones.
• Assign and manage tasks for Software Development team members and outsourcing partners.
• Establish internal programming standards and train software development team on these and other software development technologies.
• Create Performance reviews for members of the software development team.
• Advise management on technical issues and feasibility of proposed product development strategy, by keeping abreast with scientific and competitive developments that contribute to ProfSoft’s Health Care Analytical Products.
• Interface with management to define staffing, tools, infrastructure, and technologies; and analyze problems from a top down approach and implement efficient solutions.
• Pro-actively support the management team in implementing measures to achieve increased operational efficiency.
• Architect solutions for general product enhancements, new product initiatives, and custom solutions for individual customers.
• Lead the process of creating technical specs from functional specs. Create application designs, product requirements and specifications, schedule and resource project plans.
• Maintain and enhance software development processes such as the patching process, source management, the testing process, documentation and the release cycle.
• Understand and keep abreast of emerging technologies and their application to our development environment, product line, and to customers and the industry segments we serve.
• Research, analyze and evaluate outsourcing partners. Supervise and coordinate all externally outsourced development, including creating project plans and monitoring external work for quality assurance.
• Research and develop processes for integrating outsourced development and internal development
• Consult with clients on data, analytical and technical requirements and design of custom applications.
• Develop technical specifications for custom applications and product customizations.
• Develop methods for standardizing custom applications, and re-designing these for new product lines.
• Code, test and troubleshoot all ProfSoft’s products as required.
• Provide advanced technical support to customers.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 3 years software development experience. Must include at least 2 years experience in statistical and STATA programming languages in the healthcare industry. Experience must include: Demonstrated expertise in database systems and database programming languages. Demonstrated expertise in business or economics by relevant work experience or coursework. Experience consulting with clients.
