In the position of Health Services Researcher, you will research and analyze how tools that evaluate clinical claims data differ, and then publish your findings in health services journals.

This is a large research project. You will work in close collaboration with senior scientists, physicians, and developers. Your findings will help influence how the costs and quality of healthcare are measured and improved in the future. The position reports to the Medical Director, though you will also be working closely with the company president who is a Ph.D. researcher.

Responsibilities Include:

• Compare and evaluate how clinical claims analysis software tools work, which may involve analyzing large medical claims data sets.
• Produce, write, and publish substantive research results in health services journals.
• Perform extensive library, literature, and internet research.
• Communicate and teach what you learn to clinicians, developers, and others.

Requirements:

Candidates should have substantive, results-oriented research experience in health services research, either through graduate school or a job, as well as the following:

• Master’s degree in health services research.
• Excellent research, organization, and writing skills.
• Knowledge of medical health care claims data.
• Some programming experience; able to quickly learn and work with new software.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
